I find personal branding a very vital tool in the fast-paced world of this age where recruiters, tech enthusiasts, businessmen and HR professionals are all in a run to hire the best out of the talent on board. Personal Branding highly increases the chance of getting hired because it showcases the individual's achievements tailored and brushed up against the position. For a woman, it is even more vital for her profile to stand out because career in tech and computer science has been preliminarily considered as a "male" career. Against hundreds of male applicants, a few twenty or twenty five women apply. Companies especially in the Third World have male-dominated software houses and IT departments in firms. If women begin to stop underestimating their talent and brand themselves effectively, we can make a difference together and kick out critics who say "males are better coders" by proving our own unique skillsets in tech industry.
