Emulation Software Engineer

We’re looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join the team building the Zebu family of emulators, the industry’s leading emulation systems.

Does this sound like a good role for you?

In this role you would be optimizing the performance of the fastest and highest capacity emulation systems in the world. You’d leverage your strong understanding of large-scale software development, combinatorial algorithms, physical design and/or timing analysis to further improve the performance achievable with the ZeBu compiler. You’d be working as part of an elite globally distributed team to design and develop the next generation emulation backend technologies to further optimize the performance and capacity of the ZeBu compiler.

The ZeBu family of emulators can support SoC designs as large as 30 billion gates.  In the ZeBu emulation flow, the design under test is partitioned into multiple parts, each of which is compiled into a low-level binary bit-stream that can be downloaded and run on an underlying FPGA in the emulation hardware. This compilation is done in a manner that achieves the highest possible hardware throughput for the testbenches used to validate the design.

Key Qualifications:

  • You hold an MS/Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • You have 5+ years of software development experience in developing and testing large C++ applications in Unix-based environment.
  • You have experience with efficient algorithm and data structure design.
  • You have highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well either in a team-based environment or independently.

Preferred Experience:

  • You have built EDA tools, in one or more of static timing analysis, physical synthesis, partitioning, or place-and-route for large capacity and high-performance designs.
  • You have experience in building and/or using emulation or hardware prototyping systems.
  • You understand digital logic design, FPGA architecture, and hardware description language.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $114,000 - $170,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
