New Relic is looking for an experienced Senior HR Generalist with a bias for action who thrives in a fast paced environment. This is a fantastic role for a Generalist who wants to spend more of their time collaborating with other People Team stakeholders and partnering directly with their client groups.

This role will join our HRBP team and act as an advisor to our employees and front line managers on all HR related topics. We are looking for someone who excels at building strong relationships while utilizing excellent communication skills to influence and drive tasks through to completion.

This role will support our General & Administrative (G&A) and Marketing orgs within the United States and report to the Director, HRBP- G&A and Marketing to balance business unit goals with our overall HR deliverables. 

What you'll do

You'll act as the primary HR Support for G&A and Marketing Relics and front line managers in key HR lifecycle processes. This includes areas such as, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, training & development, policy & process design/implementation, compliance, and other ad hoc HR projects.  Note- this role does not own all of these processes, but they are expected to engage and partner with other parts of the People team to deliver Performance Management

  • Advises managers and employees on all aspects of the performance management process both informal and formal

  • Analyzes performance issues and provides guidance to the business on the appropriate solutions while taking into account internal policies as well as local laws and regulations. 

  • Provides feedback and coaching on performance improvement challenges managers face, including support on the content of written and verbal informal performance feedback, coaching plans, and/or behavioral/formal improvement plans

  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on the status of monthly performance metrics



Employee Relations



  • Conducts investigations as a lead and/or support

  • Resolves and addresses employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, and employee grievances

  • Ensures internal database is kept up to date with all investigations and outcomes logged in a timely manner



Partnership with our People Team functions

  • Advises on job leveling, role descriptions, offers and can participate in interview panels when required 

  • Helps to address and resolve open inquiries (tickets) initiated by employees and managers that require HRBP team input to close. Topics can be related to compensation, benefits, leaves, HRIS changes, etc

  • Partners on annual programs owned by other teams, such as annual compensation reviews, policy changes/rollouts, engagement survey, and annual performance review process

  • Conducts exit interviews and summarizes trends, while ensuring information is logged correctly within the system for reporting purposes 

  • Leads and/ or serves on special HR assigned project teams

  • Supports compliance of all local laws and regulations, security and integrity of data including personal and confidential information.

Business Engagement



  • Makes it a priority to lean in and understand the goals and strategies of the business so that they factor into our support and outcomes

  • Collaborates with leadership to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.

  • Analyzes data and trends to recommend, develop, and deliver on plans to improve employee experiences, including attrition, engagement, DEI, retention and performance

  • Acts as liaison for change management

This role requires
  • 5+ years as an HR generalist or other relevant HR roles
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies and best practices
  • Must have prior performance management and ER experience 
  • Experience coaching, influencing, and building rapport with front line managers and employees
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience analyzing data, diagnosing issues and making business recommendations. 
  • Excellent problem solving skills, can demonstrate the use of good judgment when making decisions on recommended outcomes
  • Commitment to time management, with strong organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail, able to multitask, prioritize, and execute independently
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, able to pivot quickly 
  • Operates with a growth mindset
  • Able to operate successfully with loosely defined processes and framework
Bonus points if you have
  • Degree in Human Resources, business, or a related area
  • HR experience within a global SaaS organization 
  • SHRM or HRCI certification
  • Experience using G-Suite, Workday, Culture Amp, Eqtble a plus
  • Experience working in fast paced, highly matrixed organization, across multiple time zones
