Job Summary
As a Storage Media Engineering Test Automation Development Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for development of Automation Tools for Solid State Device (SSD) and Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Qualification. Test Automation is an integral part of Qualification of new SSDs and Hard Drives and provides a competitive advantage to NetApp in the marketplace. Test Automation suite is used internally in all Qualifications and also exported to partners to shift left on device qualifications
This position requires an individual to be creative, intellectually curious, team-oriented, technology savvy, and self driven and independent to produce results.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update Python test automation scripts and libraries for SSD and HDD qualification, ensuring the integration of bug fixes and new features.
- Construct and distribute Test Automation container bundles to facilitate internal operations at NetApp and support SSD and HDD suppliers.
- Innovate in data visualization techniques to support and expand data analysis capabilities, contributing to a richer understanding of automation tool outcomes.
- Foster collaborative internal and external relationships to ensure productive teamwork and integrate with cross-functional teams to achieve collective goals.
- Demonstrate flexibility in handling a mix of routine and unstructured tasks with interdependencies, actively participate in technical evaluations, and show a willingness to undertake additional responsibilities for the benefit of the team and company.
Job Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python programming, with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing test frameworks, and a solid grasp of object-oriented programming practices.
- Expertise in using and managing version control with Git, alongside a well-rounded knowledge of Linux environments.
- Practical experience with database frameworks, Kubernetes, container technologies, and an understanding of computer architecture, data structures, and standard programming practices.
- Knowledgeable in testing methodologies for enterprise storage systems, with a general understanding of Secure Development Life Cycle processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively in both written and verbal forms.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance, as well as collaboratively in a team, and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Open to remote work arrangements and possessing a creative and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a proven ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Additional skills considered a plus include experience with AI for productivity enhancement, familiarity with NextJS, GraphQL, Typescript, data visualization and analysis, Jenkins, and Django.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering with emphasis on software development or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in automated test development is required
- Cybersecurity experience is a plus
