What You'll Do:

As a Head of Data Governance at Criteo, you will lead the strategic vision and execution of structuring and communicating platform trust to our market and stakeholders - specific to data security, privacy, and related governance initiatives for the Commerce Media Platform and each four distinct Product Solutions. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the next phase of our company's data governance architecture in alignment with Criteo's standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with legal experts to develop public policy statements, act as a media and policy training figurehead in the market, and engage with regulators to establish Criteo as a thought leader in data governance.

What you’ll do:

1) Formulate Data Security and Privacy Architecture:

  • Lead the development of robust data security and privacy architecture, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security and privacy measures seamlessly into our products and services.

  • Continuously assess and enhance data protection mechanisms to address emerging threats and technologies.

2) Collaborate with Legal Office on Public Policy Statements & Shaping Platform Trust:

  • Provide insights and guidance on regulatory requirements and industry best practices to inform policy development.

  • Partner closely with the legal team to develop and articulate public policy statements related to data governance, security, and privacy.

  • Represent the company's interests in policy discussions and advocate for regulatory frameworks that support innovation while safeguarding user privacy and data protection.

  • Ensure that Criteo’s data policy reflects Criteo's commitment to ethical data practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

3) Act as Media and Policy Training Figurehead:

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and subject matter expert on data governance matters for external stakeholders, including media, industry forums, and policy discussions.

  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials to internal teams, clients, and partners to promote understanding and compliance with data governance policies.

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key influencers and stakeholders to amplify our message and reputation in the market.

​​4) Engage with Regulators to Inform and Shape Legislation:

  • Proactively engage with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and standards-setting organizations to contribute to the development of data governance frameworks and standards.

  • Represent Criteo in regulatory consultations, working groups, and forums to advocate for policies that balance innovation with data protection.

  • ​Publish thought leadership content, including white papers, articles, and presentations, to share insights and best practices with the broader industry community.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Computer Science, Law, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in a senior leadership role overseeing data governance, privacy, or security initiatives within the ad tech or digital advertising industry.

  • Extensive working knowledge of privacy and data security as it relates to the trading between participants in the programmatic advertising ecosystem. Experience with e-commerce and/or retail media a plus

  • Fluent English speaker, French is an advantage

  • Expert knowledge of global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards (e.g., IAB frameworks), with a track record of ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.

  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements and business objectives into actionable plans and initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal and external partners at all levels.

  • Proven track record of thought leadership, including public speaking engagements, publications, and contributions to industry forums and working groups.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience building and leading high-performing teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Keen intellectual curiosity and ability to structure & solve difficult problems

  • Candidate needs to be autonomous & self-driven, comfortable taking initiative and ownership to grow the business

  • Strong interpersonal skills. The success of the Solutions Director will greatly depend on their ability to build relationships with senior leadership & communicate effectively with Criteos & partners alike.
