To cultivate interest and competence in STEM fields, educational programs must target early childhood and elementary education with hands-on, engaging STEM activities. By normalizing these subjects for both girls and boys from a young age, it reduces the chance of gender disparities taking root and encourages a more diverse group of future scientists and engineers.
