Angela Byers-Senior Director, Product Marketing, Microsoft 365 Copilot at Microsoft: Women in Tech Global Conference 2026 Speaker Interview

Angela is a senior marketing leader with over 20 years of experience building and growing technology and SaaS businesses, including more than a decade in senior leadership roles at Microsoft. Her work has focused on leading global marketing organizations, shaping new categories, and helping teams drive sustainable growth in complex, fast-moving environments.

Alongside her corporate leadership role, she guest-teaches at local universities and serves on advisory boards, where she enjoys sharing perspectives and supporting the development of future leaders. She also works selectively as a leadership & career coach, partnering with leaders who want to expand their impact while maintaining clarity, energy, and authenticity.

    1. Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference, and what motivated you to join our community of 200,000 women in tech and allies?

Yes, I am excited to connect with women across locations. Community is so powerful - it’s where we can challenge, encourage, and learn from each other.

    2. Share with us your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction.

My journey in tech has been shaped by building and rebuilding my own path. I’ve spent more than two decades in marketing and strategy across Microsoft and McKinsey, leading product and growth teams and helping shape how the industry thinks about cloud, data, and the future of work.

Alongside that executive work, I keep a side portfolio: coaching emerging leaders, guest teaching, and keeping a steady roster of conversations with smaller businesses.

    3. Why is the topic “Reimagining Success Through a Portfolio Career” important to you?

I’m excited about this topic because it names something so many senior women in tech feel but rarely say out loud. The traditional ladder stops delivering what it promised — impact, autonomy, and meaning — and the personal cost keeps rising.  But it’s within our control to diversify where we find purpose and influence, instead of tying everything to one role or one company. For me, this isn’t about stepping back. It’s about expanding your surface area of impact and building a career that’s sustainable, energizing, and truly yours.

    4. Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference, and why?

I’d recommend this session for senior women who are successful on paper but constrained in practice — the ones who feel the grind, the politics, the plateau, or the quiet burnout that comes with leadership in tech. It’s also for women who want more impact and optionality without blowing up their careers. And honestly, it’s for anyone who senses they’re ready for a new mental model — one that supports ambition, resilience, and long-term joy.
