SOFIA, November 12th, 2019 -- WomenTech Network launched its first event in the heart of Sofia, Bulgaria - at Financial Times Bulgaria’s recently established Eastern European headquarters, on 9 Moskovska Street (central district).
As featured in Bloomberg TV:
“We are thrilled to expand our global network with a brand new chapter in Sofia, as one of Europe’s fastest-growing tech & startup hubs,” said Anna Radulovski, WomenTech’s CEO & Founder. “Our amazing team was happy welcome everyone to WomenTech for the first time in Sofia!”
Women Tech Sofia connected companies that put diversity at the top of their agendas with female engineers, data scientists, designers, product managers and other tech talent.
As the first event of its kind in Sofia that gives people the chance to network with top companies, eager to connect with female tech talent - WomenTech events are by invitation only combining communities of WomenTech Network, Coding Girls and Tallocate.
Finding the right company that lives in a truly diverse tech workspace can be a challenging process. On average, numbers from the tech world, traditionally show us that most participants at tech conferences are men and that women seldom attend or speak at these events. On November 12th in Sofia, women candidates were given a platform to speak via an exciting speed-networking format with many companies and startups that care about diversity.
The event’s host, Financial Times, stated:
“It is really exciting to support the WomenTech Network and Coding Girls mission and to host events that provide a platform for diversity and growth.”
Live in Bulgaria as TrendingTopics.bg reported:
The WomenTech Network launched its Sofia chapter last night, 12.11.2019, at Financial Times Bulgaria’s newly-opened technology office. After a couple of introductory talks from Irma Mentzer, IT Executive at World Bank Group and Kristina Stoitsova, Technical Director at Financial Times, 85 women had the opportunity to meet a number of other technology organizations that are actively recruiting at the moment and also looking for new ways to foster workplace diversity and inclusion – The Coca-Cola Company (its Sofia IT Development Center in particular), Sensata Technologies, Uber, LIDL Digital, i:FAO, VMware, and the European Investment Bank.
With a truly global focus, WomenTech Network has targeted Sofia as a European stepping stone for top talent wanting to connect to leading tech firms and disruptive startups that make it their mission to focus on diversity.
