Sofio Katamadze

Sofio Katamadze is Lead Software Engineer in EPAM Georgia, combining a 12-year track record in software development with strategic leadership in significant tech initiatives. 

She masters cloud technology, recently she got certified as AWS Solution Architect. Sofio gains experience in versatile directions of the IT industry. She initiated her master's degree in Cybersecurity at Northern Kentucky University in 2024, furthering her expertise in emerging technologies.

Sofio is the tech lead of a big American car dealership project and leads engineers from all over the world. She excelled in creating a new team by providing technical interviews with each candidate. 

A PhD holder in Computer Engineering, Sofio is also an Assistant Professor at Caucasus University and the University of Georgia, where she guides future tech leaders in programming and oversees student thesis projects. 

Sofio Katamadze is deeply involved in cutting-edge research as a young scientist in the Horizon Europe project GAIN, specializing in AI Technologies for Human Behaviour Understanding. Her role involves not only pioneering research but also authoring impactful papers that advance the field.

Sofio Katamadze has taken part in various global Conferences. She provides various tech talks in different directions, such as ‘Enhancing Emotion Recognition: EEG Evaluation and AI Models’, ‘Hardware Startup Influencer’, ‘Tech Lead, Scientists, Lecturer and Student’, etc. She was a speaker at Datafest Tbilisi 2022, 2023. Sofio was leading the meeting at GITA with the students of Tbilisi School of Communication.

Sofio Katamadze has graduated from Woman Developer Academy Europe 2021 (WDA -  Google Program).

Sofio takes part as tech lead in different startups. She is a lead programmer  of the hardware startup in Twini. She has versatile experience in programming with different kinds of devices and has a big impact on team and product development.
