Session: The Impact of Culture: One Size Does Not Fit All
This session will allow attendees to understand culture, utilize a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) lens to understand personal and organizational culture. The cultural environment in the workplace will either inhibit or advance DEI elements throughout the organization. These elements are systems, processes, behaviors, values, mission and vision. This session will provide a summary of behaviors and actions to drive inclusion and belonging in the workplace and how to treat each other with kindness, curiosity, humility and human-centered behaviors.
Bio
Pat Mayers is Senior Manager for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Seismic. In this role Pat leads the DEI strategy in collaboration with her team. Pat’s goal is to embed and activate more accountable leaders and ownership of diversity, equity and inclusion across the enterprise to build a strong culture of inclusion that fosters a sense of belonging. She and her team will continue to engage with strategic partners, industry peers and external professional organizations to lead Seismic in the representation of women and underrepresented minorities in the tech industry. Prior to her role at Seismic, Pat was Global Assistant Director for Diversity at Liberty Mutual where she led the company’s first global diversity council in 8 countries to strengthen the readiness and capabilities of women in the workforce. Under her leadership, this resulted in a 10% increase into leadership roles for women of all races and ethnicities. A native of Panama, Central America she received her MBA from TX Woman’s University and holds a Diversity Professional/Advanced Practitioner certificate from Cornell University.
