Session: A Model To Set Boundaries: Energy + Choice = Power
There is a lot of talk about overwhelm and burnout, and people keep missing the mark. We need to remind ourselves of the power we have to shift our situations – and realize the real impact that this shift can have on our personal and professional lives. I’ve been speaking and coaching in the stress management space for ten years, and the reality is that wellness programs aren’t working. Employees, managers and teams need to start addressing stress from a creativity drop perspective. They need to understand the impact this is having on their workloads and their performance – and from that lens (and the justification that arises from it), start to support themselves and each other more thoroughly. People need clear awareness of the actual problem, education on how to solve it, and solid strategies and practical tools to implement them in the workplace. The next focus in our work worlds will be Work Boundaries – how to create them, protect and maintain them. Individuals and organizations that understand this shift will reap the rewards.
