Session: Project Dharma: How women in tech can find peace and harmony in what can be an otherwise a toxic workplace
Do you ever feel like your work environment could be toxic and dysfunctional but don't know what to do about it as an individual?
Many people have and especially women in tech.
It's not just about the hours or workload. It's about staying in alignment with core values and protecting mental health when facing the actual toxicity of the workplace – the politics, the (lack of) leadership, and behaviors that erode trust and respect.
If you are an empathetic leader who cares about respect in the workplace, it is frustrating and heartbreaking to experience unfair or unethical practices for ourselves and our colleagues.
How do you push back against these stressors if you're driven by a mindset to achieve, not complain, and not let anyone down?
How can a woman in tech be a positive influence in such a workplace for the teams you lead?
Or, to put it a different way, the question becomes, what can a high-performing, high-achieving woman in tech do to survive and, in some cases, even thrive in a dysfunctional, borderline toxic work environment while still protecting their overall mental health and well-being?
Well, stay tuned as speaker Sunita Alves shows individuals the three key dysfunctions of the workplace and how to take effective measures to protect psychological safety and mental health from workplace hazards most people will encounter in their careers.
During this fast-paced session, here is what participants will learn:
1. A repeatable process to recognize stress before it sweeps you away, including the 13 psychosocial factors for safety at work.
2. Mindfulness techniques to harness the power of the present moment and inner wisdom.
3. Strategies to transform difficult situations into peace and harmony.
