Transitioning into product management or any new industry can be difficult. When Shannon decided to make a hard pivot with her career, she found that tech recruiters were not interested in her unique experience. Regardless of the initial feedback, hard work and determination paid off - she landed a product role 18 months after deciding to make the change!

Bio
Shannon Cassidy is civil engineer turned product manager; currently a Senior Product Manager at Split. She started her professional career in construction, and pivoted into tech when she discovered her interest in building software.
Her first tech role was in customer success at a startup, where she leveraged her customer-facing experience to transition into product shortly after. This eventually landed her a role at Autodesk, and later, Split.
Since her tech career began, Shannon has partnered with design & engineering to build collaboration & productivity tools, APIs, mobile apps, enterprise products, and partner integrations. Now she leads initiatives at Split to integrate their product into the SaaS ecosystem which includes tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, Datadog, and Slack.
