Session: Developing a Highly Engaged Team
New research shows 70% of employees feel lonely. When loneliness creeps in, employees detach at work. This impacts their creativity, their relationships, and their productivity. Low engagement levels have been shown to be a large cost to organizations, too. So how do you improve engagement by reducing loneliness?
Leaders will understand a simple equation and apply it in an interactive session. This equation is: 3R+B=T ∑ E.
The first concept is to understand the employee’s frame of REFERENCE (R). Their frame of reference affects how they come to work. It’s based on external and internal factors that a leader needs to know such as culture diversity, past job experiences, and current family dynamics.
The second concept is to show RESPECT (R) for the employee. When you show respect for an individual, they pay it forward.
The third concept is RAPPORT (R) Leaders need to understand what motivates their employees.
Finally, employees need to feel heard in order to feel like they BELONG (B). In order for them to feel heard, we will look at communication styles and how leaders can speak to employees in terminology they easily relate to and show TRUST (T).
All this delivers ENGAGEMENT (E).
Discovering communication styles will be an interactive discussion using DISC behavior language. These four DISC styles are dominant, influence, consciousness, and stability.
