My tech career, and life has been unconventional. This talk shares my journey from a coding bootcamp grad with a background in Industrial Engineering to Senior Engineering Manager, on how a chance meeting with my first manager at my bootcamp graduation led to my first tech role, how I strategically planned my transition into management and the added challenge of becoming a parent right as I stepped into my first Engineering Manager role.Attendees will learn how I leveraged my background in process optimization and problem-solving to excel in engineering management, navigating multiple managers and team structures, and ultimately achieving a promotion to Senior Engineering Manager
