Session: Mentoring Around the World
In this talk I will attempt to summarise what I learned from my mentees and the value add this Mentoring experience brought to my life. I am passionate about mentoring because I had amazing mentors who put me on the path to self-awareness, encouraged me to be brave and take action to attain my dreams, transform ambition into goals and tangible results. Nowadays I am mentoring others to pay it forward, I also encourage my mentees to become mentors. In those crazy times of Covid-19 I firmly believe that mentoring has never been more important, it is a tool to offer support, it is an avenue to continue encouraging growth and development, especially as we move into a virtual work environment, we have to learn new ways to Network and support one another.
Mentoring is an opportunity for both mentee and mentor to take a breather and connect in a meaningful manner. It has never been more important to make time for mentoring as we re-invent our daily lives, in the Covid-19 era.
Mentoring for Womentech Network has made my year so much more interesting; I invest 2 Saturdays each month to mentor women around the world and the rewards are endless as I learned from them, share my experience with them, learn from their experience. This is the most rewarding experience I have had in 2020.
Bio
Citizen of the world and loquacious polyglot. I am French and expatriated for the past 20+ years. I worked and lived in France, Germany, Ireland and the US where I am currently based. My career to date has been rich in experience, I learned from every country, work culture, job, every mentor, every person I met along the way. I pay it forward by mentoring at work and Mentoring for WomenTech Network; and engaging in meaningful Networks to continue learning from other like-minded individuals. Relocating in foreign countries shaped me into the person and the professional I am today: a very happy citizen of the world.
