Session: Leveraging Technology for Social Impact
Technology has the power to create impactful change. In this talk, the participants would explore the different ways in which they can leverage technology to deliver impact for the causes they care about. From youth and community engagement initiatives to data analytics and artificial intelligence, the talk would dive into the different technologies and their potential use cases for positive impact.
Bio
Manasi Gupta is a social entrepreneur and an engineer by profession. At the age of nineteen, she founded Huesofthemind Foundation, a UN SDSN member nonprofit organisation to provide mental health services which have impacted 50,000+ beneficiaries with its initiatives. She is a mental health advocate and wants to make mental health resources more accessible, affordable, and available.
She often reiterates the importance of taking care of oneself and encourages mental wellbeing through her workshops, delivering 80+ talks worldwide at the University of Nairobi, One Young World- Manchester, Hong Kong University, Delhi University, Shell and UN recognised NGOs, to name a few. She is also a published author of the book, Hues of You, which raised funds for mental health resources.
She has been conferred nationally for her team's efforts by the former Health Secretary of India and interviewed by The Times of India. She represented India in One Young World Summit and is one of the 600 Applicants to receive 100% scholarship from 56,000 applicants worldwide. She has been invited by The University of Oxford for the Global Leadership Challenge, featuring 100 leaders from 50 countries. She is a Digital Youth Champion by mEducation Alliance.
She is passionate about working for various Sustainable Development Goals and has led 20+ acclaimed projects globally in Unite 2030, Global Governance Initiative, IAAH Global, AIESEC, IEEE, United Nations' Millennium Campus Network and more.
She has been awarded as a Global Leader by Tata Consultancy Services for her work. She has been invited to the Forbes Under 30 conference and the annual Harvard conference.
She has worked with various startups to make educational resources more accessible.
She believes that empathy, consistency & courage are the biggest instruments of change. She believes in being the change that she wants to see.
