Session: Inclusive Leadership: Fostering Mentorship, Allyship, and Sponsorship for a Diverse Workforce
How does inclusive leadership support diversity in the workplace? How can it enable its people to reach their potential? In this session you’ll hear from three of our people at KPMG in Canada as they discuss the importance of inclusive leadership in creating a welcoming and supportive workplace for all employees. The discussion will explore the key principles of inclusive leadership, including mentorship, allyship, and sponsorship, and how they can be applied to create a culture of inclusion, belonging and equity. Speakers will emphasize the importance of inclusive leadership in driving innovation, engagement, and business success in today's diverse and globalized workforce.
Bio
Speaker 1: Anita Taleski is a Strategy & Digital Senior Manager at KPMG in Canada, a global professional services firm. In her role, Anita supports the strategy development and execution of firmwide strategic initiatives, particularly within the technology and digital space. Anita is passionate about empowering women and building community and has played an integral role in shaping the KPMG Women in Technology Community into what it is today. She is also the producer of KPMG in Canada’s podcast series, Women Talk Tech, which spotlights women working in different areas of technology.
Speaker 2: Jadelyn Psutka is of mixed ancestry, Haudenosaunee and Eastern European. She is Oneida Nation of the Thames from the Turtle Clan and currently resides in Gatineau, Quebec. She is part of the KPMG National Inclusion & Diversity team as the Manager, Indigenous Enablement & Recruitment. She works closely with the recruitment teams and business partners to ensure equity in the recruitment process and increase Indigenous perspectives at the core of the organization.
Jadelyn’s educational background is in Criminology but she soon found a passion for Human Resources as a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier and Ryerson University. She has had the pleasure of working with an Indigenous not-for-profit, then transitioning to Corporate Canada. Taking learnings from community to advocate for meaningful consultation, deeper understanding and inclusion in all aspects of business.
Outside of KPMG she sits on the board of Focus Forward for Indigenous Youth as the Director of Talent Development and board member for Canadian Voices Against Racism.
Speaker 3: Teniola is the Manager, Inclusion Diversity and Equity at KPMG Canada, in her role, she leads and collaborates with various stakeholders to design, innovate and implement the change management, education and communication of key strategic priorities of our Inclusion, Diversity & Equity and Mental Health strategy.
Teniola Onabanjo is also the founder and CEO of makingTheMove. As someone who moved from Nigeria to Canada to pursue her career, she has seen firsthand the difficulties faced by newcomers when moving to a new country. Over the years, she has provided support to numerous organizations(as a speaker, through workshops, 1:1 coaching) She recognizes the importance of coaching, providing resources and connecting others to a network of industry professionals in the Canadian job landscape. The desire to broaden the support has led to the development of makingTheMove with a mission to connect skilled newcomers native to the African continent secure jobs pre and post arrival that mirror their skillset as they transition smoothly into Canada.
Teniola has her undergraduate degree in Economics and Human Resources diploma from McMaster University.
