SAP QE Architect
Job Description:
You will be part of a team, that consists of experienced and highly skilled quality engineers, who are responsible for assuring and engineering the quality of our SLE product family. Their duties are:
- Developing and enhancing the automation tools for various SUSE Linux Enterprise products, that also run in the public cloud, with openQA as our main automation tool.
- Designing, developing and maintaining automation test cases for SUSE Linux Enterprise products.
- Collecting and investigating automation tools requirements from QA and development teams.
- Coordinating test planning and execution in a truly global distributed project team.
Your responsibilities:
- Responsible for the automation strategy of the department within the SAP context.
- Working closely with development and product management at SUSE and at SAP to define suitable test approaches to SUSE Linux Enterprise.
- Gather requirements from SAP as our customer and partner.
- Provide guidance for milestone testing for a sufficient SAP test coverage.
- Build relationships inside SAP.
- Drive integration of SAP test environments into SUSE’s CI/CD environment.
- Create proof of concepts and pilots.
- Promote and advocate test automation throughout the QE department.
- Write documentation and training material about automation.
- Conduct training and organize mentoring programs.
Required skills and experience:
- Thorough understanding of software quality assurance and techniques, software development life cycle, test automation frameworks and various test methodologies.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of working in a virtual and distributed environment.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Being able to navigate at ease through a culturally diverse matrix organization.
- Strong analytical skills and result orientation for effective problem solving.
- Very good understanding and hands-on experience with programming languages.
- Excellent Linux knowledge in general; experience of the SUSE Linux Enterprise family and/or openSUSE is a benefit.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Jenkins, Robot framework and Avocado.
- Experience as a senior system integrator or administrator.
- Strong social skill set.
- Reaching beyond your core job responsibilities, helping others to succeed and to be successful. Having sense of ownership.
- Willingness to travel (up to 60%).
