Senior Software Engineer

HP's Print Software team is refactoring for continued success in the next decade.  Come be a part of something big!  We seek a senior software engineer to help lead out building up modernized, cloud first global solution that serves multiple business units for years ahead. 

You'll apply your experience and advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues.  In this role you'll:

• Work on complex, cross team problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. 
• Provide direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
• Represent our group to external customers/clients.
• Exercise judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to team members. 

Responsibilities:

• Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software applications design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.
• Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
• Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of software applications design and development innovation and excellence.
• Manages and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software applications design and development.
• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically 6-10 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Expertise in Java Enterprise solutions.
• Advanced skill in one or more: Python, Java, Web FE (Angular, React, Spring)
• Experience working with Azure Devops or other tools.
• Ability to provide tech leadership on full stack, design, coding, and delivery
• Good at extracting and writing requirements and specifications.
• Extensive experience with multiple software applications design tools and languages.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Experience in overall architecture of software applications for products and solutions.
• Designing and integrating software applications running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
• Evaluating forms and processes for software applications testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
