This is a Boise based position from HP LaserJet printer operations. Needs to be flexible to work around different time zones and be able to effectively lead WW implementation of projects and/or programs.  This position will expose the candidate to the WW GBU experience as well as factory experience. The Product Completion Engineer is the liaison between the different GBU teams and the regional engineering partners.   He or she supports both NPIs and current products.

  • In an NPI, the PCE is the HP lead for the CM factory to coordinate for the NPI builds: material readiness, BOM updated, documents in place, build plans etc. He or she will interface with a program manager from the CM factory and coordinates new product introduction activities with regional partners from around the world.
  • The PCE engages the R&D and manufacturing teams early in the development cycle to influence the design through the DFx, DfM feedbacks. Develops and maintains documentations used for WW manufacturing like, internal product manufacturing specs, product completion document, troubleshooting guides, quality control plans.
  • The PCE will drive the CM factory, regional engineering, and current product engineering teams to make continuous improvement (output, line efficiency, cycle time, DL optimization). Other performance metrics include dppm and yield. Will need to connect to database to pull data for analysis and reporting.

 

Specific responsibilities:

  • Coordinates NPI activities by partnering with regional and GBU teams to ensure successful delivery of new products, by leading coordination efforts, delivering product specific specifications and setting quality and efficiency goals.
  • Leads NPI troubleshooting activities by coordinating regional teams and subject matter experts to drive resolution to product and manufacturing issues during product ramp.
  • Leads DFm efforts by partnering with R&D, regional engineering and supply chain leads to optimize line efficiencies and to drive standardization on common key assets used across multiple product platforms.
  • Supports the implementation of innovative supply chain capabilities that enable new and emerging products and supply chain initiatives.
  • Leads the effort to coordinate and resolve current product issues and coordinate rework activities with regional partners as necessary.
  • Monitors new and current product efficiency and quality metrics and leads the effort to achieve goals and seek value engineering opportunities.
  • Works on the deployment of GBU or companywide initiatives such as label standards, warranty, regulatory, etc.
  • Communicates and collaborates with worldwide teams on a regular basis.

Must:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Industrial)
  • Be flexible to meet with teams working on different time zones (Europe, Asia and Americas).

  • Computer literacy - spreadsheet, word processing, understanding of basic file structures, network, and web navigation familiarity
  • Experience in writing procedural documents (e.g. work instructions) for the factories and various performance reports (e.g. monthly yield, dppm reports with analysis).
  • Have worked in high volume box build (operator assembly, testing and finish good shipment) type of factories before
  • Minimum of 4+ years of related experience
  • Fluency in English and Chinese. Experience in mostly English speaking environment advantageous.
