About Venezolanas in Tech
We are a nonprofit community of Venezuelan women with one thing in common: passion for technology.
With headquarters in New York, we are a global nonprofit organization, with chapters in Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Spain, and the United States.
At ViT, we strive to build and nurture an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our members. We are intentional in ensuring the inclusion of all women no matter their race, sexual identity, religion, faith, age or other other identity.
Venezuela is currently a country that can be described as the “ground zero” of the humanitarian crisis that has hit much of Latin America in recent years. Women are highly affected by the migration phenomenon, being forced to migrate as a consequence of the financial, political, and social crisis of the country. This means having to start from scratch in a new country and inserting themselves in a new, unknown workforce.
Why only Venezuelans? We are putting all our efforts and expertise here because as Venezuelan migrants ourselves, we have an accurate understanding of the challenges, cultural biases, and emotional trauma experienced as a result of the country’s situation and the forced exodus.
