The Network Engineering team is a highly-skilled group of individuals. We work with technologies such as DWDM, switches, routers, Peering/Backbone/Transit circuits, DDOS mitigation, and other Linode services. We provide the best connectivity to serve our customers and compute platform.

Partner with the best

As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll collaborate with the team on infrastructure operations, new projects and installations. You'll work on the deployment, configuration, automation, and maintenance of high-end routers and switches. you'll be instrumental in developing organizational standards to ensure the growth and stability of our global platform.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Juniper and Cisco routers and switches
• Configuring and debugging complex peering relationships via BGP (policies/route-maps) as well as high-capacity data circuits
• Working with vendors and internal organizations to build out large points of presence across the globe
• Collaborating with the cross-functional teams on standards and processes for deployments and updating documentation accordingly
• Building/testing/designing automation tools (including Bash scripts, Python programs, Slack bots) and working closely with network developers
• Acting as an escalation point to resolve any network related issues and participate in an on-call rotation

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 8 years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent experience
• Have an experience in managing and troubleshooting Juniper & Cisco Routers and Switches
• Have working knowledge of virtualization, Linux/Unix systems and Python programming language.
• Demonstrate hands-on BGP experience with a service provider organization.
• Display solid experience in IP network design and routing architectures
• Be a highly organized self-starter who is comfortable working both with cross-functional teams.
