Role responsibilities:

  • Account Development & Relationship Management: Cultivate new and existing relationships to drive subscriptions/licenses for a variety of Springer Nature products and services, aiming to meet and exceed annual sales targets.
  • Customer Engagement: Prepare formal quotes, respond to inquiries from customers, agents, and third-party vendors, and serve as the liaison between customers and various departments (e.g., Marketing, Accounting, Sales Support).
  • Account Monitoring: Track all account activities, including new accounts and renewals for electronic products.
  • Web Trials & Promotion: Promote, set up, and monitor web trials.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain a sales pipeline with up-to-date, accurate account information and projections, reported weekly.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate in planning and implementing sales and marketing strategies, taking both top-down and bottom-up approaches.
  • Market Intelligence: Build local market insights and provide relevant business recommendations.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Manage marketing campaigns in collaboration with the marketing manager, creating and delivering an annual marketing plan for the territory.
  • Reporting & Travel: Submit regular business activity reports and travel/training plans. Participate in key library conferences and trade shows within the territory.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the publishing industry, with preferred knowledge of academic publishing and experience working with foreign publishers.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Korean (native level) and English (fluent).
    • Proficient in MS Office applications.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude, focused on business objectives.
  • Other: Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites.
