About the role

The Functional Architect will be a member of the Global Business Systems FICO Team that supports and enhances Springer Nature’s Finance solutions

Key Tasks

• Analysing & resolving day to day issues arising in the SAP FICO modules

• Customisation & configuration of FICO processes

• Document & translate business requirements

• Co-ordinate any integrated components with other productive applications (e.g. MM/SD/BW)

• Active participation in projects, e.g. continued migration to S4 Hana and SAP Modernisation

• Close collaboration & build good relationships with International Finance teams and other stakeholders

• Actively look to improve processes; simplify and automate

• Research available functionality to maximise on system potential

Key Relationships

• Finance stakeholders within the global business

• Project Manager & Program delivery teams

• Peers within the Technology teams, specifically Business Systems, Digital Systems

• Third party vendors, partners and resources

Key Skills

• Strong process awareness; ability to map business and system processes, identify areas for improvement where necessary

• Thirst for knowledge; ability to research and translate new functionality into workable solutions

• Customisation and configuration of S4 Hana and ECC6

• Specific configuration experience around - AP, AR, GL, FA, CO, SD, MM, PM, PS, COPA, FSCM, OT Vendor Invoice Management, Treasury Management, Intercompany, banking modules, closing cockpit

• Experience with profitability analysis, revenue recognition, discounts/rebates, royalties and incentives/fees, concur, debt collection and credit management

• Open and communicative nature, dependability, strong team skills and a self-sufficient working style

• Excellent spoken and writing skills in English are essential
