Position Summary:

Springer Nature is seeking a Research Analytical Scientist to represent our Nature Research Intelligence products and solutions. The role is part of the Greater China and South Korea (GCSK) Data & Analytics Solutions (DAS) Team, within the Global DAS group. The DAS group is dedicated to the needs of Springer Nature to develop innovative data products for the research community.  Nature Research Intelligence brings together a suite of products (Nature Index, Nature Strategy Report and Nature Navigator) to address questions posed by universities, government and corporate entities in their strategic advancement.

We are looking for an individual who can lead, present and deliver commercial and research-oriented projects related to these products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a team expanding its strong foundations into new solutions. 

Responsibilities:

As the Research Analytical Scientist, you’ll be the expert on the above three products/solutions, as well as research-related big data, to present the science behind the products, features and content, bring insights based on facts and data to demonstrate NRI’s value, and lead and produce the large strategic consulting projects. The role will work collaboratively with multiple departments, such as sales, marketing, product, legal, etc., so the successful candidate will enjoy being flexible, cooperative and professional to meet the changing needs of the dynamic market and the course of the product life cycle.

  • Lead, produce and deliver the consulting projects for Nature Strategy Report in China, collaborating with local and global Data Analysts, consultants, and subject experts, as well as external partners.
  • Guide and assist sales by providing the sales teams with the necessary technical knowledge and support for Nature Navigator, including sales pitch, pre-sale value proposition report, working with the global team to produce the topic pages and/or report, implementing post-sale product/technique support, including training, feedback gathering etc.
  • Serve as the primary expert on all NRI-related inquiries.
  • Develop new methodology or consulting solutions to enhance NRI’s offering in the Chinese market.
  • Engage with the customer communities through personal interactions and social media, presenting NRI at online events and conferences to demonstrate NRI’s unique value.
  • Conduct market trends analysis and competitor landscape analysis for the DAS portfolio to support the formulation of the DAS China strategy
  • Cover other DAS products during sales pitches, conferences, etc. in close coordination with colleagues in Asia, Europe, and US

Requirements:

  • Master's education in Science, Technology, Economy and Management, Public Administration, History of science and technology and related fields
  • 2-5 years’ experience with research management and/or analytical projects and/or strategic/policy research
  • Experience in leading and writing research reports is a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Basic data analysis skill
  • Fluent in English
