To encourage more women and non-binary individuals in STEM, educational institutions should create and promote programs that are explicitly inclusive, featuring role models and mentors from these underrepresented groups. Tailoring curriculums to include the achievements of women and non-binary scientists can also create a more welcoming academic environment.
