Key Responsibilities
Nodal seeks an intelligent, articulate, and skilled Systems Administrator/Engineer. This hire will:
- Create and maintain robust operating environments for key technologies and applications.
- Maintain virtualized infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Plan and execute upgrades to operating systems on deployed servers.
- Deploy and provision new server hardware.
- Be an integral part of many technology phases: Evaluation, procurement, design, configuration, deployment, testing, monitoring, troubleshooting, restoration and recovery.
The ideal candidate not only has core system administration skills but also a strong interest in contributing to the design and evolution of complex system architectures and processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong fundamental Linux Administration skills (LFCS or RHCE level)
- Strong fundamental Windows Administration skills (MCSE or MCWSHAA level)
- Proficient in at least one scripting language such as Python, Powershell and/or Bash
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working with VMware vCenter and ESXi
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues
Preferred:
- Experience with automation tools
- Experience with HashiCorp products
- Experience with log analysis
- Experience in transforming legacy applications to cloud.
- Experience in system performance tuning and security hardening.
- Experience in administering databases
- Experience working with public cloud providers
