As the Chief Technology Officer for Change.org, Elaine Zhou is responsible for building a global engineering team of 70 and beyond to ensure that 600 million users worldwide are able to access their platform with ease; one of her key focuses lies in Responsible AI implementation. Furthermore, she has established distributed cloud infrastructure initiatives which have enabled the organization to scale up while creating an accessible and enjoyable experience for its repeat users.
Before joining change.org, Elaine served as the Chief Technology Officer of Vidado.ai; an Oakland-based Artificial Intelligence startup that was later bought by SS&C (NASDAQ:SSNC) with a vision to use AI to help companies extract significant data from hand-written documents and improve their strategies and operations. Prior to this role, she acted as Senior Vice President of Product Development at Clean Power Finance (CPF), a renewable energy company supported by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Google Ventures where her responsibilities included overseeing product engineering teams.
Zhou thrives in environments where volatility, ambiguity, complexity, and uncertainty exist because she is adept at making critical decisions with incomplete information.
