Session: Why Diversity is Good for Business, Why Inclusivity Breeds Innovation
Issues around diversity, equity, and inclusivity have been at the forefront of many a conversation in the last year, with companies coming forth to pledge commitments to equal opportunity in their workforce as well as their support for social justice issues. And while much of the seactions can seem performative and even hypocritical (ie companies investing in super bowl ads, and and large spreads in glossy magazine to make promise about inclusivity, when they have no maternity leave policy and and an abysmal number of Black and Brown women in leadership position), there is a a real business advantage to having diverse, equitable, and inclusive cultures. Beyond the reputational boost, beyond the positive public sentiment, beyond the ethics and morals points scored, diversity is good for the business bottom line. Having diverse, equitable, and inclusive cultures is profitable, and we're going to talk about how.
