Session: Breaking Barriers: Climbing the Ladder and Breaking the Glass Ceiling for Women in Tech
Using the presenter's own career, the session will explore some of the techniques that might be helpful and offer insights on some of the ongoing professional challenges faced by women in technology. It also offers perspective on the opportunities for women pursuing a STEM and cybersecurity career.
Bio
Lauren Van Wazer, CISSP, is Vice President, Global Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs, for Akamai Technologies, a $3.6B cloud computing and cybersecurity services company. She is a frequent speaker on Women in STEM issues, starting from her time serving as Assistant Director for Cybersecurity in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy more than a decade ago.
She also serves on the board of Ossia, Inc., where she is Chair of the Regulatory Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. She’s on the Board of the Akamai Foundation and is a member of the Board of Visitors of Georgetown University Law Center. She is a past Chair of the Board of the Information Technology Industry Council, the largest global technology trade association.
