Session: What If Confidence Was All You Had?
Confidence impacts almost every aspect of success in our lives. The way we choose to navigate professional and personal landscapes can be correlated to the current state of our confidence. Consider if, your defined success, was dependent upon your confidence. How successful would you be? How successful have you been as a reflection of your confidence? This talk explores key steps to developing, managing, and executing confidence to take charge of how we effectively lead and ultimately, our success.
Bio
Christin is passionate about all things relative to living life in the fullest capacity possible. She is an author, screenwriter, procurement expert, community advocate, national speaker, and true leadership enthusiast. "You cannot stumble upon greatness; you walk up to it and introduce yourself," is the drum Christin marches and while she didn’t always realize it growing up on the south side of Memphis, TN, now believes it to be nothing less than the truth.
Christin has a Bachelor of Arts degree, along with an MBA from Webster University. She is a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) and NIGP Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP), as well as an alumni of Dale Carnegie training and Leadership Memphis. Christin’s 20+ year career has centered around leadership endeavors and procurement roles in both private and public sectors.
In 2012, Christin published her first novel, Enough Time, which she hoped would inspire readers to embrace life in such a way that pushed them to follow their passions, regardless of what life throws at them. In 2018, she wrote and co-edited a documentary, The View within Mario Reed. Since then, Christin has supported corporate and non-profit organizations in screenwriting projects.
Convinced that leadership begins with the whole being, Christin most recently founded and continues to lead The Greater You Leadership Series. Launched in March 2019, the agency offers public workshops, webinars, special events and keynote speaker opportunities that foster the most positive outcome within an individual. The Greater You Leadership Series has worked with individuals, non-profits, and private organizations to help develop individual and team leadership skills.
Along the way, she learned that it was essential to inspire not only ourselves but others. Over her career, Christin has actively given back to both her community and national organizations, whether by rolling up her sleeves or serving on various boards to help progress the missions of each. She has been a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Urban Elite Professional award, Stone Awards Ida B Wells Commemorative award, and the Dale Carnegie's Highest Achievement award. As a community change agent, Christin serves as a Commissioner with the City of Memphis' Youth Guidance Commission and previously as Executive Board Member of STS Enterprise, Inc. Christin is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. A constant contributor and leader in the procurement industry, Christin also serves as the Vice President of the Tennessee Association of Public Purchasing and member of the Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP) Talent Council.
Ultimately though, she genuinely strives to be a beacon of light and hope for her 'why,' daughter, Jasmine.
