Director of Functional Safety Verification 

We are looking for a passionate Director of Functional Safety Verification to shape and lead our EDA solution and partner with the rest of the technical team.  

You will be working with customers around the world to understand their needs and partner with them to define immediate solutions and strategic differentiation.  

You will lead a team of expert verification and safety engineers located worldwide representing a center of excellence and act as a central point of contact for the analysis and verification domains and products involved in the solution.  

You will be collaborating and forging partnerships with several groups in Synopsys to leverage synergies across EDA, IPs and other functions.

Join a team that spans cross-functionally among different products to create holistic solutions for advanced disciplines, such as Functional Safety and Security, deployed in the Automotive market and beyond.   

Responsibilities include: 

  • Supervise the team to define technical requirements for the Front-End domain (analysis, verification) and products to converge into an end-to-end solution 

  • Interface with the EDA product engineering and R&D teams of different products involved to ensure correct implementation of requirements 

  • Establish a relationship of trust with customers and collaborates to understand their needs and discuss solutions for mutual success 

  • Drive collaborations across product teams and work with marketing, sales and product managers to assess the market and define technical requirements 

  • Identify gaps and potential differentiation for the EDA verification/analysis products and flows 

  • Play a key technical leadership role for the team  

  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise 

Key Qualifications 

  • BS or MS degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or similar  

  • 15+ years of hands-on experience of using/developing EDA tools in the verification/analysis domain, including Functional Safety verification (e.g. fault simulation) 

  • Solid understanding of Functional Safety and/or Security (e.g. ISO26262, IEC61508, ISO21434) and of the microelectronic design and verification flows 

  • Working knowledge of software development processes, scripting (e.g. Python, TCL, Shell scripting) and UNIX/Linux environment 

  • Passion to excel and win, and the desire to learn and explore new technologies 

  • Good investigation and problem-solving skills 

  • Experience and interest in people and technical management  

  • Flexible mindset and good organizational skills 

  • Ability to establish productive internal/external working relationships 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English 

Preferred Experience 

  • Working knowledge of Functional Safety analysis (e.g. FMEDA)

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $214,000-$320,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
