SAP stands for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing. SAP is a widely acclaimed ERP package used in large or medium size enterprises to integrate the processes across various functions such as Sales, Purchase, Finance and HR etc. The key business functions includes: All customer orders created for books, journals, digital content and open access to customer payments (receivables), other purchases and payments (payables) and all other financial transactions are carried out by users across the globe in SAP. In a nutshell, the SAP system in Springer Nature is a central system which is connected to other springer applications and all direct and indirect transactions are being handled in SAP. For example, Books purchased by customers on link.springer.com and springer.com have a customer order created in SAP. When it comes to IT, the backbone for our company is an SAP enterprise resource planning system that incorporates the key business functions of the whole organization.

 

A CRM solution is a tech platform aiding Springer Nature in efficiently managing customer interactions across their lifecycle. It encompasses tools for comprehensive customer data tracking with 360° view, sales along with renewals, marketing for effective campaigning and service processes, fostering robust relationships for growth and satisfaction. We opt for top solutions like Salesforce Sales Cloud, HubSpot, CDP & GCP etc. to avoid platform dependency and ensure best-in-class tools.

 

SAP BI provides self-service data visualization and predictive analytics for large volumes of data available in SAP systems SAP-ECC, SAP-S/4HANA and SAP PI/PO (Process Integration/Process Orchestration) is an integration platform which provides seamless integration between SAP, non-SAP systems and even to 3rd party systems.

 

App Factory Team mainly involves Full-stack & UI developers to design, develop and provide non-SAP solutions to satisfy business requests - Integrate into commercial products like SAP, Salesforce etc.

 

Here at Springer Nature Pune, a team of around 90 people are providing services to Springer Nature business in different areas namely:

 

• SAP Technical - ABAP/4, ABAP HANA, UI5, FIORI

• SAP Functional - SAP SD (Sales and Distribution), SAP FI/CO (Finance and Controlling), SAP MM (Materials Management), Ariba, SAP PS (Project System)

• Business Intelligence - SAP BI, GBQ

• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) - Salesforce Sales Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC), SAP CRM on-premise, Hubspot, CRM Data Engineering.

• App Factory - VueJS, NodeJS, MySQL

• SAP BASIS - System Administration & Security

USP of SAP team: We deliver global solutions using cutting edge technology from SAP and offer innovative solutions to Springer Nature business across geographies. Handle small and medium large projects in with Agile methodology to cater to business needs and requirement of Springer Nature business and processes in SAP ECC, PI, CRM, BI, SD, FICO and BASIS areas.

 

About the Role

• We’re looking for an experienced Development Consultant who can support our team for supporting on developing solutions for business.

• As a member of our global technical team, you will play a crucial role in solutioning, participating in design & developments, reviewing, and documenting specifications, and development and delivery of solutions on SAP systems.

• As a consultant, you will have the opportunity to continuously enhance your skills by staying updated with the latest SAP technologies and trends.

• This commitment to ongoing learning ensures that you can provide the most innovative and effective solutions to our business stakeholders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions, provide expert guidance, and contribute to the growth of our SAP practice.

• The job is based in Pune, with team members also Germany and UK. We offer a mix of remote and in office working, You'll be part of our bigger community of developers located in Spain, Germany, UK, US and India.

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

As part of an Agile team, day-to-day you will:

 

• Create complex, enterprise-transforming applications within a dynamic, progressive, technically diverse environment

• Ensures our solutions address the business needs of the business sponsors/leaders

• Using the latest tools and techniques, thrives in a role that will involve hands-on coding, usually in a pair programming environment

• Contribute to project and team priorities and find innovative ways to meet objectives

• Influence, scope and help estimate project streams/work.

• Keep up to date with the business domain and work closely with business stakeholders

• Take part in our daily stand-ups.

• Contribute to ceremonies like planning, story writing, collaborative design and retrospectives.

• Develop new features and improve code quality by pair programming with other team members.

 

What you will be doing

 

Within 3 Months you will:

• Get familiar with our systems, integrations, ticket workflow, way of working with business and IT stakeholders

• Knowledge of Transport route and handling of tickets

• Familiar with Agile way of working in project or support

• Develop new solutions/support as a member of the SAP team

• Get familiar with, and take part in, the team’s agile processes and ceremonies.

 By 3-6 months you will:

• Understand and document technical requirements - ABAP, Integrations

• Write documentation as required including process procedures, technical documentation, and assist with unit and integration testing.

• Provide technical support during go-live in the Production system.

• Work with external partners, functional team for troubleshooting ABAP objects, problems, and resolution.

• Ensure overall team deliverables, adhere to quality standards, and meet established timelines.

By 6-12 months you will:

• Be able to properly understand and discuss business requirements with business and IT stakeholders.

• Managing tickets in a self-driven mode

• Design, code and correct large and/or complex programs and program modifications as custom development, or within an existing application.

• Understand user and process requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables within the SAP landscape.

• Consult with the architects for any design suggestions or modifications. Support Incident resolution, problem resolution and small enhancements.

About You

• Proficiency in ABAP Technologies - ABAP Workbench, ABAP Data Dictionary, Report Programming, Data Migration, Screen Programming, SAPscript ,Smart forms, Authorizations,

•  ALE/IDOC, Workflow, Performance Tuning, Webdynpro ABAP, OO ABAP, Database Updates, Enhancements & Modification, BAPI, and BADI, ALV Reports, BDC, LSMW, Conversions

• -Very Strong to S4 HANA ABAP developments and worked in real time environment in HANA projects

• -Experience on ABAP CDS , BOPF & AMDP

• -Experience on ABAP Programming for Fiori Application

• -Experience on SAP Odata

• -Exposure in Outputs area, Smartforms and Adobe experience is required

• -Serve as a fully seasoned, technically proficient resource; routine accountability is for technical knowledge and 

•  capabilities as a team member or as an individual contributor.

• Excellent analytical abilities.

• Excellent communication skills both verbal & written in English are required.

• Self-motivated, capable to manage own workload with minimum supervision.

• Exposure to agile development methodologies like SCRUM would be an added advantage

• Domain Knowledge in SD, MM and FI modules

• Involvement in Implementation and Support projects

• SAP Certification is advisable
