Your opportunity
As a Lead Product Designer of One Core team at New Relic, you will play a key role in enhancing user experiences across the company's products. This team operates as a bridge between the design system and product teams. This position focuses on evaluating, defining, and improving the quality of common user journeys. We are looking for a designer who will work closely with product teams to uphold New Relic's high-quality standards. You will partner with engineering and UX leaders to define, maintain, and evolve essential use cases, setting a high bar for ease of use and overall user experience. Your primary responsibility will be leading the development of UX strategies and identifying new problem spaces that span across various groups within New Relic’s product ecosystem.
What you'll do
  • Evaluate and improve existing user experiences to ensure they are intuitive and seamless across all products.
  • Discover and address new, unmet user needs within the product portfolio, focusing on opportunities for innovation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of all product areas, informing design decisions and strategies.
  • Investigate and define new problem spaces that impact multiple product groups, proposing solutions that align with business goals.
  • Encourage team members to engage more deeply with data, using insights to drive design improvements.
  • Partner effectively with product, engineering, and UX leaders to enhance collaboration, drive team efficiency, and improve overall product quality.
  • Demonstrate and promote best practices in knowledge sharing, collaboration, and facilitation within the team and across the organization.

This role requires
  • 8+ years (min.) related work experience, ideally in enterprise software, developer tools, or SaaS B2B products.
  • Passionate about design systems, focusing on creating scalable solutions rather than one-off designs.
  • Experienced in collaborative environments.
  • Expertise in iteratively refining designs based on feedback.
  • Capable of leading constructive critiques to improve design outcomes.
  • Proficient with design tools like Figma.
  • Experience working with global teams across different time zones.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English.

Bonus points if you have
  • Technical background or experience in data visualization.
  • Previous experience designing services and platforms.
  • Understanding of modern software architecture.
