As a member of the Information Technology VMO, you will contribute to the future state strategy as well as be an integral part of operational execution. You will manage vendor activities and maintain both new and existing vendor relationships. You will identify suitable vendors, negotiate with vendors to secure the best prices for products and services, and ensure that vendors fulfill their contractual obligations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Lead and manage the development and negotiation of contracts with new vendors and/or renegotiate existing contracts

  • Guide IT Leaders by recommending ideal approach to vendor selection and contract structure 

  • Manage vendor selection RFP process including evaluation, pricing auctions, negotiations, and stakeholder management

  • Facilitate operating mechanisms with IT Leaders to manage professional services forecast

  • Collaborate with IT Leaders to stay abreast of timeline, technology and other related changes and determine how and when it results in impacts to vendor management workstream

  • Manage inflation and drive cost out by negotiating rates and terms with vendor partners, while maintaining business quality standards

  • Partner with IT Leaders and Sourcing leadership to establish vendor strategy as an independent company

  • Monitor and evaluate vendor performance with service level agreements and contract guidelines

  • Act as a point of escalation for vendor related issues.

  • Leadership and mentoring of DT program managers, vendor management point of contacts and vendor managers to establish a sustainable and effective operating framework 

  • Evaluate and establish alternate/strategic contractual models like outcome-based models

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years IT Sourcing, Purchasing or Procurement experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized college or university

  • Strong experience in strategic contract negotiation

  • Proven experience writing/generating RFPs to suppliers and supplier management experience

  • Must be willing to travel 10%

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of outsourcing processes & best practices 

  • Proven project management and analytical skills

  • Proven experience in working with suppliers & managing supplier contracts and engagements including in depth Statement of Work expertise

  • Prior experience in operating with and managing global teams 

  • Develop and champion long-term sourcing strategies, using market trend and best practices

  • Ability to work directly with executive leadership, program leaders & relationship leaders on both GE and supplier side as part of a remote multi-location global team 

  • Strong business acumen with excellent negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to make key decisions and manage competing priorities
