We are looking for an Advisor TIS System Analysis (IT Advisor) to join our team in Calgary, AB.

As a team member of Enterprise Marketing and Risk Management (MRM), this position will be providing timely IT related application management services to the Energy Trading and Risk Management applications suite. Applications include: Openlink Endur/Findur, Egistix Oil, Entero, Kyriba and MCG (IAM).

This role will have a primary focus on analytical skills, providing technical implications of potential infrastructure changes and testing new technology, investigating, and reporting potential system issues and communicating resolutions. Providing input into the development and implementation of MRM’s vision, goals and objectives.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide the following application related services to our Enterprise Marketing and Risk Management business clients, including Trading, Scheduling, Contracts, Confirmations, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Treasury and Accounting:
  • Work with other MRM System team members in delivery quality products and services as prioritized by MRM Management.
  • Investigate reported system issues and bugs; identify and communicate alternatives for resolution to MRM Systems leadership; follow through on implementing chosen alternatives.
  • Work with MRM Business Analysts in understanding and clarifying business specifications for MRM systems modifications and/or enhancements.
  • Document and communicate technical design specifications for proposed solutions.
  • Develop and implement solutions in accordance with Enbridge coding standards and project guidelines.
  • Prepare and implement unit testing scripts according to established project guidelines.
  • Liaison with various I/T service providers (e.g. Openlink, Egistix, Kyriba, MCG, DBA, Sapient, Server Teams, Service Desk, etc.) to assist in implementing programmed solutions.
  • Be involved in the investigation and assessment of new tools and technology for overall fit within the current and emerging technical landscape for MRM enabling the delivery of the technical roadmap. This includes vendor and RFP assessments, analyzing the technical implications of potential infrastructure (hardware and software) changes and testing new technology to resolve questions about alternatives.

Who You Are:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in a related field, Computer Science, Management Information Management Systems
  • 4+ years of progressive experience of application development and IT processes in ETRM
  • Must have a proven track record of being a clear analytical thinker.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, initiate, lead and manage change.
  • Experience providing application support for one or more of the following systems: Openlink Endur/Findur, Egistix Oil, Entero, Kyriba and MCG (IAM).
  • Strong relationship management and consensus building skills.
  • Aptitude and communications skills related to leading and acting independently.
  • Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influence and leadership skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with some travel requirements.
  • Work in a virtual team environment with frequent interactions with team members located in Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Houston.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple problem solving, analytical tasks as the work is highly visible and decisions affect all integrated processes associated with new or changed business or operations
