Session: It’s not easy being a woman in tech: how to help yourself & others make it better
I am not good enough, what am I even doing here? It’s mainly men around, maybe women are actually worse in tech? Do I need to “lean in” in order to be successful? These and so many more questions pop into my and many others heads so often.
Often I am very scared, shy, and, oh tell me about uncertainty and doubts I have about myself. Especially if I am the only woman in a room in a work meeting - and this happens very often. The fact itself would not be interesting at all if it would not come with a loaded stereotypical behaviour and me needing to “convince” others that I’m worthy being there.
With time I learned how to deal with my own doubts, and a lot of it is starting to listen to others and trusting that they believe in me for a reason. In this talk, I will share my own growth story and what I learned on the way: how to help yourself & others.
