Ecem Yilmazhaliloglu Bio
I am an 19-years-old Diversity and Gender Equality Advocate, an incoming student at Stanford, an AI4ALL alum, and the founder of Technoladies- an organization that promotes inclusion in AI and technology, helping close the gender gap in Turkey by creating a supportive platform to encourage young women to follow their passion in the field of tech. To raise awareness on this important issue, I have spoken at several summits such as AI For Good, UNICEF AI & Child Rights, WSAI, London Summit AI. I was chosen as one of the 12 WEF AI Youth Council delegates and named in the "100 Women in AI Ethics 2021". I also served as an ML Engineer with Omdena, working with 24 other ML Engineers from all around the world as the only high school student on the team, to design a patio-temporal algorithm aimed at preventing sexual harassment in India, and conducted a research on detecting and mapping soil erosion risk on a global scale using Machine Learning with Prof. Dr. Jakub Kabala, receiving full scholarship for this research. In addition, I've co-led the special interest group on AI ethics, a team of 12 talented and interested high school students from around the country and the world, co-writing and publishing a paper on the outcome. I'm currently a freshman at Stanford University, studying CS with a full scholarship.
