The Role
The Specialist Product Configuration is a member of the SUSE Global Finance Operations organization and reports into the Manager for SUSE Product Configuration worldwide. The Finance Operations organization is a professional, committed and dynamic international team, which provides an invaluable contribution to the business's success. The position, based in Provo, is directly supporting other members of the Product Operations Team and the SUSE Finance Organization with a harmonized product setup and partnumber creation in the different SUSE systems.
The role is an essential contributor to getting our products and solutions to market. You are responsible for:
- the administrative and system readiness of new and existing products/part numbers & pricelists (adds moves and changes).
- You own the end to end Subscription delivery process
- You work with our customer support team and sales teams on software entitlement questions.
- Other responsibilities may include a contribution to system enhancement related projects geared towards improved time to market.
This new role will be mainly the execution of new requests coming from the SUSE product management. The role will include error correction and maintenance tasks.
Job Description
- Drive all operational tasks associated with ELT approved product-related changes and requests coming from the SUSE product management, marketing, and sales team in the go-to-market process
- Create and maintain part numbers and pricing in SUSE SalesForce
- Create and maintain SUSE subscriptions, maintenance delivery part numbers, entitlements, and update channels
- Create and Maintain SUSE registration codes in SubHub (SUSE Subscription Management Hub)
- Create, distribute and publish product announcements as appropriate in collaboration with the requestor
- Maintain SUSE price lists SalesForce, assign products to each requested pricelist
- Assist Customer Support and Partner Support with customer issues relating to the delivery of their purchased offerings
- Assist all finance teams with all SKU related revenue recognition issues
- Drive all backend processes related operational tasks associated with the SUSE eCommerce platform.
- Help to identify gaps in processes, contribute to discussions involving system enhancement related projects, establish best practices and produce training documentation for department
- Regular communication with other stakeholders as appropriate
- Training of peers and new hires as appropriate
- Active communication to sales and other operation teams on relevant changes or improvements
- Create, distribute and publish the multiple SUSE pricelists on a regular cadence.
Limited Travel could be required primarily for internal meetings.

Candidate Profile
The position requires a candidate with a commercial understanding and good people skills since the role involves working and collaborating with multiple disciplines and business units across the company. Likewise, the ability to work effectively across different cultures, team spirit, and a can-do and proactive approach is essential. The position requires a candidate who could work independently with minimum supervision, at a distance and in some cases time zone from your direct manager and other key team members.
Process and project management skills and an understanding of sales and channel structures are important characteristics of a successful candidate. Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
Communication is a key part of the role, including the ability for precise communication to internal and external audiences. Fluency (writing) in the English language is a must for this position. A second European language is an advantage. Experience of working in the sales or Go-To-Market organization, ideally in high tech industry, preferably software is also an advantage.
Typically, candidates will have a University level education. Practical international experience in the Software / Software Consulting sector, exposure to program management is essential.
Experience
- Prior experience in an enterprise high tech or software environment with experience in a sales, finance, support role for sales or related groups.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Computer skills including advanced MS Excel and Word are essential.
- Candidates must have very good phone and writing communication skills, as well as the demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Fluency in English is required. Ideally, the candidate has command of a second European language (German, French, Dutch).
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
