Unfold Bio is revolutionizing the vertical farming industry. We combine leading seed genetics with the best agtech experts in order to dramatically advance the productivity, flavor, and nutrition of food grown inside vertical farms. Leaps by Bayer and Temasek have jointly invested $30M for Unfold to develop crop varieties specific to vertical farming's unique requirements and build digital tools + services to aid in the development and distribution of these varieties. We are currently looking for an experienced and self-driven individual to join us as an early member of our software engineering team.
You will play a key part in developing the user interface of our digital product, which combines a farm management system for monitoring plant experiments, a plant breeding platform for designing experiments and analyzing experimental data, and customer-facing digital services to help vertical farms grow our varietals. You will architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive our web applications. As an early employee, you will also help to shape our engineering culture and practices and impact the development of the overall company culture.
We seek someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, has experience building high-quality user interfaces, and has the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to collaborators outside of the engineering team.
- 5+ years experience of front-end engineering experience
- Experience designing and building a variety of interfaces
- Experience with HTML/CSS, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility
- Experience with modern JavaScript, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, and types
- Experience with React, Vue, Webpack and related tools
- Experience integrated with web services using JSON, XML, or AJAX
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product managers, outside stakeholders, and other software engineers.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- You MUST be authorized to work in the United States.
