Director of Program Management

We are looking for an experienced Director of Program Management to develop the Program Management strategy, report status to management team and organise/coordinate programs based on the strategy. You will provide strategic guidance to teams, engineering managers and project managers in ways that promote the company’s culture and best working practices.

The Systems Design Group (SDG) consists of multiple development teams with a wide range of technical disciplines including application software, embedded software, FPGA firmware, circuit board and mechanical design.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing staff across a wide range of disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. They will also be able to develop efficient strategies and tactics.
The goal is to ensure that all programs deliver the desirable outcome to our organisation, on time and in budget.

Responsibilities

• Present Program status reports management team meetings.
• Develop and control deadlines, budgets and high-level activities.
• Develop Project methodologies to improve the business decision making.
• Define suitable strategies and objectives for project management.
• Apply change, risk and resource management to programs and projects.
• Assume responsibility for the program’s people.
• Coordinate and monitor cross project programs.
• Resolve high level program and project issue.
• Lead and evaluate project managers and other staff.
• Drive Quality, Compliance and Conformity activities into programs and projects.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience as a program manager or other managerial position.
• Strong understanding of software and hardware engineering delivery.
• Understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
• Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
• Outstanding leadership and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving ability.
• Working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project, JIRA etc.) is a strong advantage.
• BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus.
