Position Summary

Are you ready to make an impact on the research administration industry? As a member of Huron’s Research Office team, you will apply your knowledge of federal and private grants administration to provide research support for universities and academic medical centers across the country.
You will use your time management skills to work on multiple clients concurrently and apply your expertise and work ethic to manage awards, complete financial account set-ups, prepare invoices, manage receivables, reconcile accounts and submit financial reports in compliance with federal and sponsor guidelines and client policies. This is a full time US- Remote position.

Qualifications

Essential Duties:

  • Supports establishment of awards in the grant administration and/or financial system, manages award activity and monitors expenditures, ensures compliance with federal and sponsor guidelines and client policies.
  • Identifies and forecasts trends in spending that exceed current funding levels, clears overdrafts, re-budgets when necessary, completes project close outs, and performs general financial reconciliations.
  • Supports post-award regulatory compliance activities, including subaward monitoring, cost transfer review and administers cost-share and effort commitments.
  • Executes sponsored financial management transactions. Specifically, prepares invoices, manages receivables, and prepares and submits financial reports.
  • Coordinates sponsor communications and requests for prior approval, including re-budgeting and no cost extensions.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. work authorization required.
  • Huron requires a bachelor’s degree to this position or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3+ year's of experience in research administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat other applications of the Microsoft Office suite. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical, ability to learn quickly and high-level attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in sponsored programs financial administration software applications such as Workday, Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft, Lawson, SaaP, Banner, Coeus, etc. 
  • Substantial knowledge of federal agency policies, regulations, requirements, especially the OMB Uniform Guidance, and their application to sponsored research accounting. 
  • Effective time management to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task, supporting multiple internal initiatives at one time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in process change to achieve research administration best practices.
  • Experience working in payment portals such as PMS, ACMS, iRAPT, and other sponsored research payment systems.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $65,000 - $95,000.  The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy.  Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $70,720 - $112,100. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
