Session: From blockchain technology to education equity
Blockchain is a novel technology that is continuously evolving and being applied in various domains. Still, little has been researched about the application of this technology in education, specifically, its use to help us increase ACCESS and EQUITY.
Can blockchain technology help us achieve universal access to quality education?
The advantages of blockchain technology in education range from data management, data authentication, protection, accreditation, and credentialing.
But how can blockchain technology be used to solve some of the challenges faced by the sector as a whole, including: 1- enabling better partnerships between stakeholders, 2- including the voice of all actors including children and families, 3- creating an infrastructure for collaboration with the private sector.
Some innovative applications of using blockchain technology are being proposed, and the benefits and challenges of using blockchain technology for education are also discussed.
