Session: Afghanistan & Women In Technology
I would like to talk about my journey and the obstacles I faced in Afghanistan.
1- what challenges did I face as a girl in Afghanistan?
2-How did I overcome these challenges?
3- Why our society don’t want Afghan women to promote?
4- How can we assist the girls to have access to continue their education after the Taliban banned the Schools & Universities?
Bio
Mehreen Najm is a Full-Stack Developer holding a bachelor's degree in Computer Science field and has 3+ years of professional experience working with different Organizations as a Developer.
Moreover, she was the Google Developer Students Club Lead from 2019 to 2020.
Besides that, she has membership in many Tech communities such us (Devlcub, Google Developers-Kabul, WomenTechMakers, Afghan Girls in ICT, IGFA (Internet Governance Forum Afghanistan, WomenTechNetwork, Internet Society, CodeWeekend ) to help students, passionated developers, especially girls to promote their knowledge via Technology and help them to transform their ideas into actions.
She was the Mentor in one of the Global Hackathons (Garage48 Empowering Women Kabul)
Moreover, In 2018 she was awarded as an active girl on International Girls in ICT Day from the Ministry of Information & Technology of Afghanistan.
She has delivered multiple speeches at various Tech conferences such as Womanity Foundation GCC (Girls Can Code) Role Model Sessions, CodeConf2022 CodeWeekend Community, Google Developers Kabul Chapter, and WomenTechMakers International Women’s Day.
In addition, She is awarded the Silver Medal winner in WomenTech Global Awards Voices 2021 in the category of Rising Star In STEM from the WomenTechNetwork global community.
Her passion is to help and promote girls to education and their basic rights via Technology.
