AI also helps to promote equity by helping editors find the right peer reviewers from the vast scientific global network of academics faster and helps non-native English-speaking scientists to improve their science communication and reach new global audiences.

Data plays an essential and starring role in our technology and AI ambitions, as the quality and accessibility of data has a direct and material impact on AI's trustworthiness, predictability, accuracy and more.

About the role

As a Software Engineer in the SN AI Lab, you’ll be joining a team of engineers who are building cutting-edge AI solutions which are scaled and supported in the cloud.

Lots of promising prototypes are built; and lots of models are trained. But they cannot reach their full potential without applied AI software engineering. You bring AI to life – putting it in the hands of users in AI software products.

Every day will be different, but will include:

• Translating, designing and delivering high-quality applied-AI software solutions, with an appropriate focus on ‘product mindset’, and like with agile software development practices
• Exploring, designing and implementing software and cloud architecture with a focus on security, reliability, scalability, testability, etc.
• Collaborating with ML Engineers, Data Engineers, Product Managers and other internal stakeholders to bring AI software products to life
• Advancing SN AI Lab’s applied-AI software expertise & capabilities: This includes your ongoing development but also coaching and developing more junior team members

About you

The role is experienced, so strong technical and professional skills are required. You are flexible, creative and analytical. You are also a strong communicator, collaborator and team builder.

• A background in Software Engineering, Computer Science, AI or other relevant technical degree
• 4+ years of applied AI software engineering experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience in Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure), FastAPI or similar library, Code testing, GitHub actions. Must love Python.
• This is a hybrid work environment; (the team spends ±2 days a week in the office)
