What you can expect when joining the team

Reporting to the Vice President of Legal Affairs, you will act as an advisor for all legal and regulatory compliance issues of the company. You will be responsible for negotiating various agreements and ensuring compliance with the laws and regulations to which the company is subject in the context of our nationwide operations.


Your daily life

In your day to day, you will be led to:

  • Advise and support members of various departments in contractual and business relations, as well as in the sound management of regulatory risks for which they are responsible;
  • Advise and lead different areas of the company in legislative, legal, privacy protection, and intellectual property matters;
  • Assess legal risks in commercial transactions and propose risk mitigation alternatives;
  • Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements within the organization;
  • Participate in tender processes;
  • Participate in various transactional projects;
  • Participate in maintaining controls and audits related to compliance frameworks concerning personal data and company data protection;
  • Actively participate in the implementation of various compliance programs, the preparation of necessary documentation, and the maintenance of associated records;
  • Support the Privacy Officer and guide the organization towards best practices in this area, in accordance with Quebec, Canadian, and international standards;
  • Ensure legislative monitoring to inform and support stakeholders who may be impacted;
  • Ensure the protection of the company's technological assets;
  • Communicate and collaborate with all team members to ensure optimal alignment on the company's opportunities and priorities.

Job requirements

Your profile

Do you have significant experience in business law, technology, and privacy protection? Are you autonomous and action-oriented? Do you have strong negotiation skills and demonstrate judgment and integrity? Do you want to join a high-potential company that operates in a constantly evolving environment? The sky is the limit! If you have:

  • A bachelor's degree in law and experience in emerging technology law and privacy matters;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate counsel or business law;
  • A good mastery of laws and regulations regarding privacy protection;
  • Knowledge in the field of technology, software contracts, and open source;
  • Proficiency in computer skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Proven writing skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • An innate sense of judgment and integrity;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills;
  • A business mindset, autonomy, and strong technical skills;
  • Experience and understanding of the SaaS sales model (major asset);
  • Since you will be regularly interacting with English-speaking colleagues located outside of Québec, proficiency in both English and French (spoken, written, and read) is required.
