We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a testing background to join our Growth product development team. You will be embedded within an engineering team that designs and builds automation tests and tooling used by many engineering teams at New Relic. The main focus of our team is validating the end user experience and financial behaviour of our Usage and Billing platform.

What you'll do
- Provide software development oversight and insight for our team
- Design, build and apply testing frameworks to help empower teams to verify their software and test scenarios
- Work closely with your teammates to understand the user requirements, architecture, design & evolution of our test systems.
- Look for repeated manual operations and find ways to automate them
- Set up, maintain and operate test automation frameworks
- Pair with engineers and stakeholders to create, document and execute test cases
- Design new testing methods and tooling for quality process improvements
This role requires
- 5+ years with any of these languages Javascript, Java, Ruby
- Experience creating automation test systems (UI, API, Messaging)
- Playwright, Postman, Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, WebdriverIO or similar automation scripting languages
- Enterprise tools we use Jira, Zuora, Salesforce or similar financial billing systems
- Build systems and CI/CD pipelines Docker, Jenkins, Groovy, Terraform and Devops
Bonus points if you have
- A quick learner, a self-starter and able to work independently
- Ability to reason, understand and test time-series data
- Relevant functional and integration testing experience
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
- Excellent communication and written documentation skills
