What You'll Do:

Analytical Ownership of ML Systems: Take analytical ownership of SmartSwitching, Criteo’s internal traffic-shaping algorithm that influences product performance and revenue

Research: Conduct research to improve the efficiency of SmartSwitching through data analysis and offline tests
-
Feature Recommendations: Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for feature enhancements or new feature development based on analytical findings
-
A/B Testing and Validation: Design and execute A/B tests to validate new feature performance and their impact on revenue metrics
-
Collaborate with Product Teams: Partner with the product team to identify business needs and translate them into actionable data science insights
-
Support Development Teams: Assist development teams by providing analytical guidance for the implementation of suggested algorithm improvements
What You’ll not Do?

Write Production-Level Code: You will not be responsible for writing production-grade code

Develop ML Algorithms: The role does not involve developing new machine learning algorithms from scratch
-
Handle Support or Ad-Hoc Requests: You will not be working on support tickets or addressing unplanned, ad-hoc requests
Who You Are:
-
At least 3 years of experience in Data Science

Analytical Mindset: Ability to approach complex problems logically and strategically

Strong Understanding of Statistics and Machine Learning: Familiarity with statistical methods and the practical application of machine learning algorithms

Programming Experience: Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, modeling, and querying
-
Self-Motivation: Demonstrates initiative to pursue projects with minimal supervision
-
Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product and marketing)

Fluent English
Preferred qualifications

Background: Holds a degree (BS or higher) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines

Math Competitions: Has participated in or excelled in mathematics competitions, indicating strong problem-solving abilities

Experience with Large-Scale Data: Proven experience in handling and analyzing complex, large-scale data sets

Industry-specific expertise: Experience in online advertising (e.g., Real-Time Bidding, MarTech) is a plus
