Security Researcher-Client-Side Protection & Compliance- Remote

Join our Threat Research Team!

In this role, you will be responsible for researching web capabilities and technologies, designing solutions for complex detection challenges, investigating various client-side attacks, and developing tools for attack hunting and analysis. Additionally, you will contribute to the growth of a rapidly expanding security product, serving top global customers as part of Akamai's comprehensive security product portfolio.

Shape internet security

You will play a key role in the research and design of new capabilities for Client-Side Protection & Compliance. You will track, hunt, and investigate emerging client-side threats impacting some of the world's largest websites and applications.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Researching web technologies and capabilities, and designing solutions to address complex detection challenges.
• Hunting and investigating client-side threats such as Magecart attacks and malicious code injections.
• Developing tools for threat intelligence and analysis.
• Monitoring attack trends and campaigns, and creating blog posts about discovered threats and trends.
• Collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to shape the future of a top-tier security product line.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 4+ years of experience as a security researcher with deep expertise in web security.
• Have 4+ years of proven experience in scripting and programming.
• Have a good grasp of client-side JavaScript and familiar with browser capabilities and protections.
• Experience with web architecture and protocols (CDN, HTML, DOM, JS, HTTP, HTTPS,TLS/SSH, IPv4/v6).
• Have experience in reverse engineering obfuscated JavaScript code.
